The Double Agent plays both sides against the middle. Is it American as apple pie, or redder than a Russkie? Turns out it's a little of both.

The Double Agent

1 1/2 oz. Exclusiv Moldovian vodka
1 1/2 oz Fulton's Apple Pie Cream liqueur
A splash of milk

Pour all of the ingredients over ice in a snifter. Garnish with a slice of apple.

Two great Rhode Island traditions... in one can!

The fine folks at Narragansett beer have done it again!

This time, they've teamed up with North Kingstown's Allie's Donuts to bring you a tremendous double chocolate porter. Allie's Donuts was opened in 1968, and for the last 40 years has provided Rhode Islanders with a homespun, handmade alternative to the pink and orange donut shop that will remain nameless...

This highly drinkable porter isn't too heavy, clocking in at 5.5% ABV. The cocoa flavor is way out in front on this beer, and it finishes with a hint of maltiness. Perfect for mild fall evenings around the fire pit! A six-pack of 16 ounce cans is just $8.99 plus tax.

These wines, from California's Napa Valley, over-deliver on taste while not emptying your wallet.

The Chardonnay is medium-bodied with a hint of oak. Aromas of lemon and citrus combined with flavors of apple and pear lead to a delightfully crisp finish.

The Merlot is medium-bodied with a hint of oak and flavors of cherries and plums. It is rich in the mouth and ends in a soft fruit filled finish.

The Pinot Grigio is a medium-bodied wine filled with aromas of wildflowers, peaches and pears. Fresh, tropical flavors combined with a touch of spice lead to a delightfully crisp finish.

The Moscato has a floral, fruity nose and ends with a sensation of lemon zest on its finish.

The White Zinfandel has a beautifully bright salmon color and aromas of strawberries and spice. Full of flavors, this wine has a refreshing crisp and clean finish.

Mamajuana is a traditional drink from the Dominican Republic that is concocted by allowing rum, red wine, and honey to soak in a bottle with tree bark and herbs.
The taste is similar to port wine. Rumored to be an aphrodisiac, Mamajuana is also consumed for its medicinal value. The alcohol is said to act as an extract base that pulls the herbs' curative properties, creating an herbal tincture that is often served as a shot.
The reported positive effects on health vary, ranging from a flu remedy, to a digestion and circulation aid, a blood cleanser and kidney and liver tonic.

Here are a few recipes using this traditional libation.

The Red Rocket:
Equal parts Mamajuana, peach schnapps and cranberry juice. Serve over ice.

The Mama Bomb:
1 1/2 oz. Mamajuana
1/2 a can of Red Bull
Serve Iced or straight up.

The Swinger:
Equal parts Mamajuana and pineapple juice.
For an extra kick, use pineapple flavored vodka.
Serve over ice.

The Mama Mojito:
1 1/4 oz. mamajuana
12 Mint leaves
1 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 oz. lime juice
Muddle the mint, sugar, and lime juice in the bottom of a glass, add ice.
Top with Mamajuana

The Striptease:
1 oz. Mamajuana
1 oz. vodka
1 oz. Peach liqueur or schnapps
2/3 cup Orange Juice
1/3 cup Cranberry juice
Pour all ingredients over ice. Stir or shake well.

Imported direct from Portugal's Lisboa region, these super-affordable wines will have your dinner guests thinking that you spent a lot more than you really did.

The white has a lemony nose and is crisp on the palate with hints of lime and a mild acidity.

The red is very aromatic, not too dry, has the flavors of sweet plum and dark berries up front, and a hint of licorice in the finish.

KRU Vodka

This is a super-smooth vodka distilled from potatoes that rivals Grey Goose for straight drinkability, mixes as well as any top shelf vodka on the market, but is priced like a mid-shelf vodka.

The added bonus with this spirit is the reusable aircraft-grade aluminum bottle that contains it. When you're done with the vodka, you have a durable container for water, sports drinks, juice... or heck, put your homemade chicken soup in there.

Take it to the beach, on a hike, or anywhere else with the built in lanyard and carabiner that you can clip to your belt loop or backpack. Just don't try to take it on an airplane. It will be confiscated.
